Extreme Peneda Xurés

Extreme Peneda-Xurés (EPX) is a long-distance, self-supported mountain bike event run entirely inside the Gerês-Xurés Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, crossing the Peneda-Gerês National Park in Portugal and the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés Natural Park in Spain. The 2026 sixth edition is held on 4 July with start and finish around Castro Laboreiro (Melgaço) and Arcos de Valdevez, offering three GPS-navigated options: Black Wolf 199 km / 5,200 m+, White Wolf 168 km / 3,900 m+ and Green Wolf 124 km / 3,300 m+. Riders have a 19-hour time limit to complete their chosen route.
